We are here to report some sad news. Hitmaking producer Tay Keith has passed away at the age of 29.
His longtime collaborator BlocBoy JB shared the news of his death on his Instagram story, writing, “We talked everyday yeen even tell me you was leaving.” The news of his death has been confirmed by WSMV who report that he was recently found dead in his Nashville apartment.
No cause of death has been reported so far.
Born Brytavious Lakeith Chambers in Memphis, Tay Keith first connected with local rapper BlocBoy JB during their adolescence. Some of the songs they created together and shared online went popular. Drake was drawn to that, and Tay Keith produced Drake and BlocBoy’s 2018 collaboration “Look Alive,” which went quintuple platinum and peaked at #5.
Before graduating from Middle Tennessee State University in 2018, Keith worked on Travis Scott’s chart-topping Drake collaboration “Sicko Mode” and produced Drake’s hit song “Nonstop” shortly after. “Tay Keith, fuck these n***as up!” became his famous signature drop.
