Joey Bada$$ Questions JID’s Absence On ‘The Fall Off’ While Responding to Jay-Z’s Comments on Rap Beef

Jay-Z recently sat down with GQ after a long stretch of not entertaining any interviews. Naturally, when Hov spoke, speculations came to rest on how he feels about the state of hip hop culture.

Speaking on a variety of topics, Jay-Z eventually touched on the Kendrick-Drake beef, and even said that he gave Kendrick the Super Bowl spot due to him having a “monster year.” He clarified that none of this was to spite Drake — and that as Hov, he doesn’t need to.

In all this, the mogul also put forth his two cents on the nature of rap beefs. In particular, Jay felt that the Kendrick-Drake battle went a little too far and that he almost wished it didn’t happen. To him, the best way to handle beef is by being competitive in a collaboration.

All is good, but rapper Joey Bada$$ chose to voice his thoughts on social media platform, X, speaking on how it is not the easiest to collaborate with people when egos are involved. He feels that the reason rappers don’t get other rappers on their records is because of the fear of getting ‘bodied’ on your own track.

To him, this is perhaps the only reason JID was not on the album. At the same time, he also clarified that the claim he’s making is bigger than an artist or two, and that he doesn’t want to single out any particular person for what seems to be a general issue. Check out what he had to say!
