Gillie Da Kid is mourning the loss of his son YNG Cheese who was a budding rapper.
After some rumors began to circulate on social media, news outlets have now confirmed that YNG Cheese was killed in a triple shooting on Thursday night. The shooting occurred on the 5800 block of Mascher Street at 8:24 p.m. in Philadelphia, police said.
A 25-year-old man was shot once in the back and taken to the hospital by police. He was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m. Additionally, a 28-year-old man and a 31-year-old man were also shot, and transported to the hospital. Both are said to be in stable condition.
Although police has not revealed the identity of the man who died, sources close to the family confirmed with NBC10 the victim was YNG Cheese, a local rapper and son of Philly rap artist and popular podcast host Gillie Da Kid.
Wallo, who hots the podcast MILLION DOLLAZ WORTH OF GAME with Gillie, posted a tribute to YNG on his Instagram.
