Albums don’t leak like they used to due to the streaming era, but for years now, we’ve been seeing random loosies from big artists surface online. This morning, Kendrick Lamar is the victim of a couple of leaks.
A pair of songs that Kendrick recorded in 2013 have hit the internet today. In December of last year, the same thing happened with ‘Falsehood’ and ‘Organized Madness’ and before that, four Kendrick songs leaked in 2019 from approximately around the Kendrick Lamar EP era.
The two songs that leaked today are called ‘Crooked’ and ‘Burn’. The former is a grittier record where the Compton MC raps about the nature of the street life and compares it with his life now. The latter is a more structured record that also reminisces on the old days in Compton.
Both of the songs are great and it’s unlikely we would have heard that at all, but you always like to see an artist release or not release their own music the way they like.
In case you missed it, Kendrick’s tour for Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers recently became the highest grossing tour by a rapper ever, beating out massive events like JAY Z and Kanye West’s tour for Watch The Throne and Aubrey & The Three Migos.
